This was exciting, I’ve been trying to find a program to help me blend a sequence of photos took of an ISS flyover on 2012-04-09, and thanks to a friend on Google+, I found one — StarStax, a multi-platform (Linux/Mac/Windows) image stacking app with a great interface and simple features.

I shot a sequence of 16 and a sequence of 9 exposures at 6 seconds each with my Nikon D3100 DSLR, 18-55mm kit lens (at 18mm), f/4, ISO 400, with a Zhumell urban sky glow filter over the lens. I should have shot more so as to get more of the pass in a single field of view…but at least I learned a lesson — shoot more, not less.

Anyway, I am pretty happy with my first ever attempt at a star trails/ISS/Satellite pass image!
